Data deletion

You can ask us to delete the personal data we hold about you at any time, free of charge. This page explains how to ask for each RealBrain service, including DMJar and Facebook Messenger, and what happens afterwards.
How to ask: email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my data", and include the details listed below for the service you used.
We confirm we have received your request within 3 business days, and complete the deletion within 30 days. When it is done, we email you a confirmation with a reference number.
1. You messaged a business on Facebook Messenger (DMJar)
If you sent messages to a Facebook Page that uses DMJar, we may hold your Page-scoped Messenger ID, your first and last name from Messenger, your messages and links to photos you sent, and any order details you gave, such as your phone number and delivery address. To have this deleted:
- Email [email protected] with the subject "Delete my data".
- Include the name of the Facebook Page you messaged, your name as it appears on Messenger, and the approximate date of your last message.
- So we delete the right conversation, we may ask you to send a short message to that Page from your Messenger account to confirm it is you.
We then delete your conversations, your name, and the contact and delivery details from your orders with that Page. If you messaged more than one Page that uses DMJar, list each one.
The business you messaged controls its own copies of your orders, for example in its records or its order system. To have those deleted too, contact the business directly.
2. You chatted on a business's website (DMJar widget)
Email us with the website address, the name and email you entered in the chat, and the approximate date. We delete your conversation, your name and email, and the device identifier linked to them. You can remove what the widget stored in your browser at any time by clearing that website's data in your browser settings.
3. You are a business using DMJar
Email us from the address you use to sign in to DMJar and ask us to close your account. We disconnect your Facebook Page and delete your Page access token, your account, your business settings and menu, and your customers' conversations. You can also stop DMJar receiving messages at once by removing the app from your Page in Facebook's settings. Removing it there does not on its own delete the data we already hold, so email us as well.
4. RealBrain account and forum
Email us from your account's email address. We delete your RealBrain account (name, email, password hash, sign-up location) and all its sign-in sessions, and we permanently erase your forum threads and posts. If you would like to keep your forum posts but remove your name from them, say so in your email.
5. What we delete, and what we may keep
- We delete the data from our live databases within 30 days of confirming the request.
- Copies in our hosting provider's automatic database backups are overwritten within a further 30 days.
- Data we have already sent to the business you dealt with, for example order alerts on the business's own Telegram chat or its own systems, is controlled by that business.
- We may keep records we are legally required to keep, such as payment records for tax, and anonymised order totals with no personal details.
- Deleting your data cannot be undone. A deleted RealBrain account cannot be restored.
